  1. Mr C. Glad you are well. From your tales of Borneo, skiing in Italy to camping in the Langdale valley. A total Gent, seeing you are still active on the hills is a treat for the soul. Please Mr C one more run on the big Scree. !!

    1. Hi Brian, I remember you well. The most treasured moments of my teaching career were those spent in the mountains with keen enthusiastic students who fully enjoyed the wild outdoors. I am still climbing , however, I had a major upset 2 years ago when I fell on an insignificant crag and broke my leg and ankle. I have not yet climbed since. But I have my sights on a “ridiculous” mountain in the far north of Scotland. Suilven. Watch this space for my progress. Hopefully in 2021. Cheers Zoom

      1. Actually I did return to repeat the climb of the High Street horseshoe. Kidsty Pike, High Street and Mardale Ill Bell. Normally a 3 hour scramble. Took me almost 8 hours. Moral. Don’t break legs when you are 70+ The level of the lake when I was last there was only little below top level. Very little to see of old Mardale. I shall return soon RJC
